Having previously worked in the music industry as a backing singer for some of the UK’s most influential
acts including Peter Gabriel, Pete Townsend, Seal and Eric Clapton, Chyna was all too familiar with the pain
women sometimes endure from the prolonged wearing of heels. After suffering from an unbearable back
injury, Chyna was recommended to take Alexander Technique lessons to help cure the pain.
I was so
impressed with the benefits I received from this process of posture realignment for back, neck and shoulder
pain I took three years out of my singing career to train as an Alexander teacher at the renowned Walter
Carrington Teaching Centre in London”.It was during this period of study Chyna tackled the problems of
wearing high heels and created a methodology for safe ‘heeling’, known today as “Mastering the Art of
Walking in High Heels”.
